Ceramic Tiles - How to Make a Hole in a Ceramic Tile

Quite often when tiling around plumbing such as in a shower or sink area it becomes necessary to make a hole in a ceramic tile to accommodate a pipe.
This might sound tricky but don't worry this article is an easy to follow guide on how to achieve this neatly and quickly.
Take the tile to be cut and place it against the pipe first from the side and then from below. On both occasions marking the tile with a mark that is in line with the centre of the pipe.
You then lay the tile carefully on a flat surface, take a steel rule and extend your two marks right across the surface of the tile. This creates two lines that intersect each other at the point where you need to create your hole.
The next step is to draw a shape of the hole. This can be done quite easily by either tracing round an off cut of pipe or a coin. Obviously it is important to ensure that whatever you draw around is the same size and diameter as the pipe on your wall.
Once you have done this you cut the tile in two along one of the straight lines you drew on the tile at the outset using your tile cutter (I prefer to always cut a tile vertically but you may need to cut it horizontally to accommodate your pipe).
Taking a tile marker you then score along the outline of the resulting semi-circles marked on each tile half. Be sure to penetrate the glaze and to score as deep as you can. Then take a tile nibbler and remove the part of the tile that forms your hole.
Finally you fit the two pieces together around the pipe and grout. I also normally apply some silicone sealant at this point to protect the surface with a water tight finish.
That is it you have successfully created a hole in a tile and fitted it around a pipe. All the tools mentioned in this piece can be purchased from a discount ceramic tile supplier along with your tiles.

DIY Ozonator Video

""Home made Ozonator by Daniel Vincent Kelley.

Ozone is O3 or triatomic Oxygen. The fresh smell in the air after an intense thunder storm is ozone generated by the lightning. Most disease is anerobic, or nonoxygen breathers. Microbiology disease lifeforms have too thin a membrane to endure much oxygen. This is why it's said the AIDS virus dies on contact with the air.

Ozone can be used against disease by infusing it in water or oil which is then consumed by the afflicted. An ozonator as such uses a pump to move the ozone from a containment unit into the liquid to be ozonated. The ozonator I built is for ozonating the air which is useful for killing mold in a home, or enhancing air quality. Breathing ozone cleans your lungs. As with all things, moderation is key, as there is a level at which ozone does become too potent and will sting your lungs. There are doctors, oxidative medical specialists, who use ozone in hyperbaric chambers to cure cancer and AIDS.

I made this ozonator using 1 fan I bought from target, approximately $50, 2 rolls of copper mesh from amazon.com $30, 1 transformer from a neon light attained from craigslist $20 and a window I got for free from craigslist.org. So for a total of $100, I made a highly functional ozonator. Most ozonators I found while shopping around for ozonators cost more than $400. " (danielvincentkelley)

Bamboo Fountain Design - 7 Easy Steps to Build Your Own Bamboo Fountain in Less Than 30 Minutes

Did it ever cross your mind that anyone can make a bamboo fountain on his own? Bamboo fountains are environmental friendly, aside from that they can be installed either indoors or outdoors. A fountain adds charm, and a refreshing and relaxing atmosphere to your garden and home.
Let's try this out! You have to consider first the type and style of the fountain you want before buying the materials. More likely you have some of them if not all in your storage room lazily lying around for quite some time. Well you better start collecting the following materials listed here and do it yourself before going for that purchase.
Bamboo
Wood screws
Pump
Container
A base
Drill machine
Rod
Screw driver
Hose pipe
If you prefer an outdoor fountain, consider a good quality of bamboo that will stand the test of extreme weather conditions. Polishing the bamboo will also make it prettier and increase its lifespan.
There are two parts to creating your own bamboo fountain in less than 30 minutes. The first part (steps 1 - 3) is about creating the parts, and the second part (steps 4 - 7) is about assembling these parts. Both these parts fit in 7 easy steps as described below.
Cut the bamboo sticks to the required length. (We will need 3 big bamboo sticks, one will hold the nozzle and the other two will hold the moving part of the bamboo fountain. The moving part of the fountain collects the water and empties it as the weight of the collected water increases.
Drill a hole in the center of the two big bamboo sticks and in the center of the moving part too.
Assemble these 3 big bamboo sticks in such a way to make a pivot type of arrangement.
Pass the pipe through the bamboo (this pipe ends at the top where there is a nozzle made of bamboo.
Mount all these on the base using the screws in such a way that the water coming out of the nozzle falls inside of the moving part of the fountain.
Place the arrangement inside the container with the pump positioned below the base. You can be creative enough to hide the base by using decorative stones or rocks.
Fill the container with water and plug your pump to your power source and there you have it!
Your fountain is now alive! Make note that your bamboo fountain is easy to maintain and regular maintenance will make your place attractive for a long period of time. Not everyone is a DIY fan, so instead of making your own bamboo fountain, if you just decide to buy a fountain, here are some of the tips you should consider before making that decision
What kind of fountain do you want? - (table top, floor standing, or wall fountain).
Your space - you should be aware of the space (indoor or outdoor or whatever your preference maybe).
Consider your budget - it is always wise to know your capacity to pay before making a purchase. The craftsmanship, value and complexity determine the price of the commodity.
