When it comes to scrubs, sugar has always stolen the limelight. While we love sugar, there are so many delicious ingredients and scents that deserve a little love. After all, sugar is not the only scrub with beauty benefits. We are advocates of all things coffee and the coffee body scrub is also good enough to eat. The caffeine in coffee will work wonders on your lacklustre, sagging skin. You can whip up this coffee face scrub recommended by cosmetologist Nandita Das with just a few things in your kitchen. No doubt the smell of the mixture is amazing but the glow you will get after use will be even better. The biggest plus about this recipe is that you can double it up and use it as a body scrub too.


To prepare this delicious body scrub, you will need,
  • 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons of ground oats
  • 2 tablespoons ground oats
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon powder
You need to follow these steps to prepare the scrub
Combine the coffee, oats, honey and cinnamon in a small bowl. Stir it well to form a paste and then gently apply the mixture on your skin. Make sure that you do not rub the mixture and pat it carefully onto your skin, avoiding any contact with your eyes. Leave the mixture on to settle for 20 minutes before you rinse your skin with lukewarm water. If your skin is sensitive, make sure that you reduce the amount of cinnamon or omit it entirely. Cinnamon does not suit sensitive skin.

Coffee is rich in antioxidants that will prevent any free-radical damage, oats are exfoliating and will scrape off any dead skin cell. Honey will moisturise your skin and remove any blemishes and cinnamon will brighten up your skin. source
